Mandate Free Lunches for GWRSD Students

Mandate Free Lunches for GWRSD Students

The Issue

It has become clear that numerous students attending the Government Wentworth Regional School District (GWRSD) struggle to afford a daily lunch. Hunger is a widespread issue that directly affects the performance of students, impairing their focus. According to the Food Research and Action Center, students with consistent access to nutritious meals at school exhibit noticeable improvements in their academic performance, attendance, behavior, and health. Insufficient nourishment diminishes a student's ability to concentrate, leading to lower grades and higher dropout rates. Therefore, we assert that GWRSD must implement a policy offering free breakfasts and lunches. Providing this basic necessity will not only support our children's educational success but will also cultivate a stronger, healthier community. Join us in demanding that the GWRSD institute a free lunch policy. Please, sign this petition.
