The Issue

I, like many others, often find myself questioning where I stand with others and if they truly like me. This feeling of uncertainty can be quite distressing. At times, it descends to a point where I am convinced that no one likes me despite no direct communication to substantiate this belief. Honesty, when delivered with tact, supports personal growth and the development of strong relationships. It ensures that no one has to live with the constant discomfort that comes from not knowing.

Research suggests that clear, honest, and compassionate communication fosters stronger, healthier relationships. According to Psychology Today, open communication can significantly improve our personal relationships and alleviate feelings of isolation (Psychology Today, 2019). In a world where such transparency is encouraged, no individual would have to live under the shadow of assumed dislike.

This petition aims to advocate for a change. It calls for a social mandate wherein people are required to communicate kindly and respectfully when they are not in favor of someone. This change will not only eliminate unnecessary emotional stress but also aid in personal growth, as we get to understand where we stand with others. This is a direct call for openness, with empathy taking center stage in our personal relationships. It is high time we showed consideration for each other's mental well-being.

Please sign this petition to enforce a precedent of honest, yet compassionate, feedback within our social interactions.

Please, join hands in advocating for transparency in our relationships and make the world a more mentally peaceful place to live in.
