I am an admirer and enthusiast of Old Monk Rum, a cherished Indian rum that warms my soul during the harsh Canadian winters. The issue at hand is the scarcity of this rum in the Liquor Control Board of Ontario's (LCBO) outlets during the colder months. Canada's winter can be extremely cold, sometimes reaching negative double digits. A glass of Old Monk Rum can be a source of comfort but it's not consistently available when needed the most.

The LCBO is the largest purchaser of beverage alcohol in the world, procuring products from more than 80 countries [LCBO annual report 2020]. Yet, the supply of Old Monk Rum, an esteemed brand recognized globally, falls alarmingly short. This anomaly profoundly impacts enthusiasts such as myself who rely on this alcoholic beverage for comfort and warmth in the frigid weather.

We must address this anomaly for the welfare of all Old Monk lovers across Ontario. It's time the LCBO ensures more frequent stocking of Old Monk Rum particularly during the winter months.
