Thanks to AI, it may soon be impossible to tell what's real. The consequences -- some of which we already see -- will be severe, ranging from an increase in financial scams and deepfake porn of real people to the proliferation of misinformation and mass delusion. It presents a bleak future, unless we demand change.

What makes all of this worse is that companies are making billions of dollars off of the tools that are creating this dystopia. Sam Altman, Sundar Pichai, and Dario Amodei are keenly aware of the societal risks their companies pose.  So why don't we expect them to do more?

This petition demands that AI companies, including Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic, should have to watermark every video made on their platforms and provide metadata that makes those videos immediately detectable. 

This petition applies to any AI company that would like to operate in the US legally. AI companies -- especially those making billions of dollars -- should not equip ordinary people with the ability to ruin lives, steal money, and create mass hysteria.
