Mandate a court hearing for child abuse with evidence from the child’s medical team
The Issue
This story begins in our own home, where my daughter has endured relentless physical, mental, and emotional abuse that has systemically shattered her mental health. We are residents of Saginaw, MI, and this is a haunting reality far too close to home. It's not just our story to tell – it's a harrowing narrative of child abuse victims across our country.
Facts tell us that nearly 700,000 children are abused in the U.S each year, according to the National Children’s Alliance. An alarming 81.9% are victims of neglect, 18.3% of physical abuse, and 8.5% of sexual abuse. (National Child Abuse Statistics). Despite this, our legal system frequently fails to heed the victims' pleas, the warnings of medical professionals, and clear signs of abuse.
As a concerned parent , I once thought that a child's brave accusation, backed by the corroboration of a medical team, would be taken seriously by the courts. Unfortunately, our experience has shown that this is not a given.
Today, we're raising our voice for our daughter and those like her who have fallen through the cracks of a flawed legal system. We want a court hearing to officially recognize and act upon the medical evidences of my daughter's abuse, and we want it now.
We're not asking for a favor. We're demanding justice. Justice for my daughter, justice for every child suffering in silence. Please, sign this petition and take a stand against child abuse. Let's make the courts listen. Let's make them act.
