Three days since Brad Wheeler announced his resignation, and we have almost 600 signed supporters, and what seems like the tacit (if not explicit) support of Stephen Holbrooke, who founded KRCL in 1979. We also have garnered coverage in the Salt Lake Tribune. Thus far, the station seems publicly unworried by the massive hole left by Brad's departure, and long-term damage being done to the station and its reputation while this issue goes on. We need to keep pressure on the station and the Board of Trustees. Please continue to call the station at 801-359-9191. Please continue to email the Board of Trustees at board@krcl.org. Please continue to share the link to this petition around Facebook and Twitter and whatever other social media platforms you use. In many ways I think that the only way to really make this sink in is to hit KRCL where it hurts by cutting off funding, however, if we are ultimately successful in effecting change at the station, I want everyone who has cancelled (like I have) to immediately start supporting the station again. KRCL is far too important to this community to let it die, but we need station management and the Board of Trustees to know that we're not going to financially support a vision with which we are in fundamental disagreement. The sooner we can make that happen, the sooner we can limit any damage being sustained by the station; the sooner we can go back to being challenged and inspired by the DJs, by the staff, and by the the volunteers.
