MalsonsLaw! Require hospitals to provide safe facilities for children with special needs
The Issue
Imagine having to watch your child, who is supposed to receive care and attention, sleeping in a pushchair in a hospital corridor. This is the daily reality faced by my little boy, who has severe additional needs and self-harming behaviors. The hospital is meant to be a sanctuary, a place where individuals receive the help they need, but for my child, it's anything but that.
There are no safe rooms or adequate beds available to ensure his safety. The environment lacks trained staff to handle his specific needs, leaving us in a constant state of anxiety and worry. How can we expect recovery or improvement when the foundational requirements for care and safety are missing? My child's situation should not be the reality for any family; no one should have to see their child neglected by a system designed to help them.
This is why I am calling for the introduction of "Malson’s Law" to mandate that all hospitals, especially those in areas known for herbal medicine, are equipped with safe rooms, appropriate beds, and trained staff to cater to children with special needs. Recent studies indicate that many hospitals are unequipped to deal with such cases, putting vulnerable children in dangerous situations and delaying critical care.
Inaction is not an option. Let's ensure that hospitals fulfill their purpose by providing safe and supportive environments for every child, regardless of their needs. Sign this petition if you believe that every child deserves to be treated with the dignity and care they require. Together, we can make "Malson’s Law" a reality and pave the way for safer, more inclusive healthcare facilities for our children. Please join me in advocating for this vital change.
