Making a Written Test When You Go Get a Gun License

Making a Written Test When You Go Get a Gun License
The Issue
This issue is personal to me because many people every year get gun law violations just because they aren't educated on the law. A written test for obtaining a gun license would ensure that individuals are knowledgeable about firearm safety, legal responsibilities, and proper handling procedures. According to a study by the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research, states with stricter licensing requirements have seen significant reductions in gun-related incidents. By introducing a mandatory written test, we can help reduce accidental shootings and unlawful use of firearms. Please sign this petition to advocate for safer communities through better education on gun laws.
Many people across Massachusetts are affected by these strict gun laws and get fines and even jail time.
We need to make a mandatory written test so people are well educated on firearm laws before they go out with one or before they decide to use one. The written test would give scenario like questions on how to carry your firearm, how to store it and things like that. The test would just test you on if you know what you’re supposed to be doing after getting a gun license.
The written test will be optional IF you already have a gun license but will have to sign a waiver saying you chose not to do the written test.
For illiterate people the test will be spoken/repeated to them by an official.
