There are more than 2.9 million single parents within the uk as of 2022 , and that is rising fast , with over 50% of these children not having contact with both parents , I am a single father of two children. After seeing what damage to a child being dragged through the family court system can do to their wellbeing this is nothing short of mental abuse yet my ex-wife has neglected to have any contact with our children due to not winning the  custody battle to me , This is emotionally ,Psychologically and physically affected my children and in story’s I’m told by many parents this effects a lot of children from abandonment issues to lack of social skills confidence depression, anxiety behavioural traits and much much more as they get older , this can be nothing but neglectful and causes lasting damage to the emotional and mental well-being of our children.  We also see millions of parents weaponising children to score point on an ex spouse , this is wrong , Children need both parents in their lives, no child should feel that loss and have that question mark of why , I see daily the hurt it brings to our children and those who refuse to see their children and weaponising them , children are not an object to use as and when you feel free to they are the innocent that needs protection and given guidance, but we see parents who neglectfully cause these actions while continuing to have other children without any consequences  , these parents should be charged with child neglect based on emotional trauma. And we see parents getting away with this , and the lasting effects are left with our children as they get older is not good give our children the best start in life by making it a criminal act to abandon and weaponise children ,

According to the American Psychological Association, parental absence can lead to significant emotional distress in children, including anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues (APA). It is time we recognize this as a form of neglect that warrants legal action.
