My daughter is wheelchair bound and can only access 15% of the playground, preventing her from playing with her friends. Thrasher Elementary should be a place where all children, regardless of their physical abilities, can learn and play together. Currently, the lack of handicap accessibility at our school prevents many students from fully participating in school activities. 

According to the CDC, 1 in 4 adults in the U.S. has a disability that impacts major life activities (CDC). It's crucial that our schools accommodate these needs to foster an inclusive environment for all students. In 2010, the ADA passed a federal law requiring public schools to be handicap accessible. Why are we not following that? 

We urge Signal Mountain officials and the Hamilton County Department of Education to take immediate action by installing ramps, accessible playground equipment, and other necessary modifications to ensure every child has equal access to educational facilities. Dollie deserves the same elementary experience as every other child.
