Good news!!!
They have reopened the Thrasher playground and Dollie has been having a GREAT time playing with her buddies!!! If you didn't hear, Hamilton County ended up providing Thrasher with a $500,000 bond to make the playground area ADA compliant. They had to adjust the sloping at Thrasher, add sidewalks, and will be removing all mulch and trading it out for a rubberized material (pour in place surfacing) this summer.
THANK YOU!!!!!! If it weren't for ALL of you, this would never have gotten the attention it did. Our family is forever grateful and so inspired to KEEP GOING!
We are building an ALL inclusive playground on Signal Mountain, The Dahlia Playground.
ADA: has pathways to each part of the area and surfacing that a wheelchair/stroller can utilize.
Inclusive: Is ADA and ALSO promotes play between all ages and abilities. Example: A merry go round will have an opening for a wheelchair to roll right in and allow a wheelchair user the ability to ride the merry-go-round with other children. There are ramps leading up to a slide etc.
The new playground in Riverview is all inclusive. It was brought to fruition by an amazing group of women who started "Hope Included", a non profit organization who rallied together to make a dream a reality. They have agreed to let The Dahlia Playground run under their non-profit and have helped me TREMENDOUSLY already!!!

We will be hosting our Fundraising Kick off for The Dahlia Playground on Sunday May 4 @ 5:30 PM at Civil Provisions on Signal. We will have our own custom menu and great drink specials. We will have the renderings up for viewing, the town will speak, and I will give a presentation about how we got here and where we plan to go next!
I would LOVE your support on our NEXT venture. Please follow our journey on our facebook page: The Dahlia Playground
Thanks again, we feel the support!!!
