My fellow Americans,

The Super Bowl is more than the NFL championship game, it’s a cultural phenomenon.  It’s one of the most-watched television events each year and millions of people across the United States either throw or attend watch parties on Super Bowl Sunday.

Heavy drinking is often associated with these parties. Estimates state that Americans drink over 300 million gallons of beer every Super Bowl Sunday. This leads to people having hangovers the next day when they have to go to work.

Imagine you could have fun at those parties with your friends without having to worry about going to work the next day with a hangover. This is why I propose a new national holiday. A new holiday that allows you to enjoy the full pleasure of Super Bowl Sunday with your friends and family.

This doesn’t just apply to adults at parties. Kids like to stay up and watch this awesome game too. Because it can be late at night for some by the time the game ends, younger kids that want to watch the game often don’t get to stay up for the whole thing. Having a national holiday that cancels school will allow people to keep their kids up without worrying about them lagging behind at school the next day.

I hope that anyone that reads this can align with this issue. Most people, wether children wanting to stay up late or adults wanting to party a bit longer with their friends, have experienced this. If you read this, please sign. Maybe we can get another holiday if we try hard enough.
