Make the Highland Park Town Tables Permanent!

The Issue

In April of 2022, the Highland Park Town Tables will return to North 4th and South 3rd Avenues. Opening these roads to pedestrians, diners, and anyone else in town is a great benefit, and they should be a permanent feature of Highland Park’s downtown.

Why do we love the Town Tables?

They’re a great place to eat or work outdoors.

They provide a safe place for families to spend time.

They make Highland Park more walkable.

They help bring foot traffic to Highland Park businesses.

They give space back to people, making it accessible to everyone, instead of limiting it to automobile drivers.

If you support opening these roads to pedestrians and other uses, reducing the footprint for dangerous, polluting cars, and having permanent spaces for people, here’s what you should do:

Sign this petition and share it to get your neighbors and friends to sign.

Contact local and state officials and tell them you want to see the Town Tables made into permanent features of Highland Park’s downtown. When you contact people in support of the Town Tables, provide a reason why! For example, you use them every month/week/multiple times per week/etc., you support less car infrastructure and a people-focused downtown, you want to make the downtown more accessible to foot traffic, you enjoy having a place to work or dine outdoors, or any other reason you support making the Town Tables permanent.
