Anyone using the A15 between Lincoln and Scunthorpe knows how dangerous this single carriageway is, especially for drivers of large vehicles, trucks and coaches in particular. This road varies in width and at some points truck mirrors miss each other by mere inches. Moving to the left a bit is not an option in places as the risk of running off the carriageway is very likely. Car drivers are held up by the slower speeds of trucks, and risks of head on accidents while overtaking a slower vehicle are a daily experience.

If this road is not improved, the accident toll will continue to rise, not to mention the risk to life. I am sure that the emergency services would welcome the dualling, with 2 lanes in each direction, with open arms. And with regular speed cameras in place, hopefully the accident rate would drop significantly along with the risk to life. Added to this, the cost of hold ups after accidents occur and costs to the environment damage would also drop dramatically.

Now is the time to get the ball rolling to stop future accidents and incidents on this road. It is a very busy road, allowing faster, easier and more environmental access not only to towns/cities at each end of its run, but the import and export of all manor of goods to and from Immingham, Killingholme and Grimsby docks. Other routes are available, but at a greater cost to all. Now is the time to get the dualling, with 2 lanes in each direction, of the A15 between Lincoln and Scunthorpe.
