For over a decade, Turn 5 at Sydney Motorsport Park has been problematic for riders. Water seepage and the poor track surface has caused many crashes. On a perfectly dry day, sometimes a week later it's not uncommon to see water seeping from the surface causing havoc for riders looking to enjoy what is now NSW's only high speed track.

The Australian Racing Drivers Club has spent a significant sums of money on track signage and track lighting amongst other things but for too long has neglected what is the most basic of essentials when it comes to a track - the surface.

It's difficult to find a rider who hasn't had an issue here, despite riding with the upmost care.

As track day prices and entrance fees for races continue to climb, it would be nice to see the ARDC allocate a portion of funds in haste to resurface this section of the track properly.  Whilst we acknowledge there have been attempts in the past it's clear those attempts have not been executed properly.
