This petition is to support legally owning sugar gliders in Australia as an alternative to introduced species. introduced species can be destructive of other native animals when they are in the Wild.

Sugar gliders on the other hand are native to Australia and don't harm the environment.

Sugar gliders are easy to own, clean, cheap to feed and cute! These little critters are compact and grow to only 1.3 kg. Pet sugar gliders would be sold by registered breeders, not taken from the wild. 

Did you know that in USA sugar glider pets are already legal!? They are not even native there. Of course cats won't be taken away from you but buying cats will be limited if this succeeds and will not be a national change to start with
