I was in the Modesto Junior College library when I saw one of the flyers was for the Stanislaus County Youth Poet Laureate contest 2024. When I looked closer, I realized that the art used on the flyer and on their website was clearly AI Generated. Instead of having an actual artist do the piece, presumably a college student taking digital drawing and painting or something. This is not acceptable and I call for a boycott of the event and we need to end the replacement of human artists in favor of machine code spitting out images trained off of the works of actual Humans.

By signing the petition, you are agreeing to boycott this event and have the guys behind this event come out with a proper apology and to pull the promotion image and replace it with one that is clearly human made. We will not stand for the replacement of actual human artists with a soul in favor of soulless computer program trained off of human made pieces that can spit out an image.
