Make St Modwen Grant Locking residents a democratic say in how their community is run

Make St Modwen Grant Locking residents a democratic say in how their community is run
The Issue
St Modwen control the Locking Parklands Community Interest Company (LPCIC), which is responsible for the Green Spaces, Playground, Paths and The Radio Wing at Locking Parklands.
As a Home Owner you are automatically a member of the Locking Parklands Community Interest Company and are required to pay service charges.
- St Modwen decide what our money is spent on
- St Modwen allow us to receive a poor service
- St Modwen ignore our emails
- St Modwen tell Preim (managing agent) what to do
- St Modwen transferred ownership of the television system to the community, even though it was deemed not fit for purpose.
- St Modwen have cut down trees on LPCIC Green Spaces and not replaced them, potentially a breach of Planning Permission.
- St Modwen have never provided any financial reports of The Radio Wing. Where is the money?
The list goes on…
In May 2023, St Modwen confirmed in writing that it was not in their interest to have Residents on the board of their own community interest company for fear of losing control.
We are asking Residents to show their support in our campaign to make St Modwen stop controlling our community interest company and allow Residents views to be heard and acted upon. We want a democratically elected Board of Directors, chosen by Locking Parklands Residents. A corporate conglomerate should not be deciding what our money is spent on, or making decisions that suit them.
