Make Split-Screen Videos Count as Copyright Infringement on Social Media Platforms

Make Split-Screen Videos Count as Copyright Infringement on Social Media Platforms
The Issue
I am a regular user of social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok. Over time, I have noticed an alarming trend - people are uploading videos that contain content that is not theirs. When these instances are reported as Intellectual Property (IP) infringement, nothing seems to be done. The reason behind this inaction appears to be the use of split-screen videos where two pieces of stolen content are combined, tricking the system into not recognizing the source.
This practice is still a form of content theft and should be treated as such by all platforms. According to a report by Statista in 2020, there were approximately 3.6 billion social media users worldwide; this number is projected to increase to almost 4.41 billion in 2025 (Statista). With such vast numbers involved, it's clear that we need better regulations and safeguards against IP infringement.
We call upon Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and other social media platforms to recognize split-screen videos containing unauthorized content as copyright infringement and take appropriate action against them. This will ensure respect for creators' rights while maintaining the integrity of these platforms.
