Make Sims 4 DLC crossplay

The Issue

If you buy DLC packs for The Sims 4, they’re tied to the platform you bought them on. That means if you ever want to switch from console to PC (or vice versa), EA expects you to repurchase every single pack, even though you’re using the same EA account and they already know exactly what you own.

For players who own every pack, that’s over £1,000 worth of content. Even with discounts during sales, rebuilding your library can still cost £500 or more, just to play the exact same content on a different system.

This is daylight robbery.
We already face the question of whether we truly “own” our games, as most purchases today are just licenses that can be revoked or locked away when servers shut down. EA’s refusal to let your purchases carry over across platforms is yet another reminder that they view players as cash cows, not customers.

What makes this worse is that other companies already offer cross-platform ownership. Games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and Genshin Impact all let players keep their purchases across PC and consoles with a single account. These are massive companies, just like EA, proving it’s not only possible but standard in the industry today. EA has no excuse not to follow suit.

What’s worse? EA doesn’t even offer a goodwill solution,  like a reduced transfer fee or heavy discount for content you already own. For a multibillion-dollar company, this isn’t about covering costs; it’s about milking players for every penny simply because they want to play where the experience is best (often on PC, where mods fix bugs EA has left for years).

Things need to change.
We’re calling on EA and the wider industry to allow cross-platform ownership of DLC or, at the very least, offer affordable transfer options for players who have already paid. Gaming is already expensive enough; no one should have to pay twice for the same content.
