For people with illnesses, disabilities and mobility issues, a lack of seating at bus stops can be a huge barrier to public transport. 

Having to stand whilst waiting for a bus can be impossible for some people, and can cause hours/days/weeks long pain flare ups, medical complications, discomfort and distress for others. 

Public transport should be accessible and safe for everyone to use, and (at least) basic seating at all bus stops is an essential part of making that possible. 

Understandably, not all London bus stops have space for a full bus shelter, but some form of basic seating should be in place for those who need it. A stool, bench or perch that takes up only as much pavement space as a standing adult, would make a huge difference to people's travel experiences and wellbeing.

It can be the difference between public transport, and paying for a taxi and can be the difference between a simple journey and unnecessary pain.

When we are seeing new bus shelters being installed with electronic screens that don't seem to truly purpose anyone, it feels insulting that none of this money is being put into basic seating. 

Please sign this petition to ask Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London and TFL, Transport for London to prioritise adding seating to all London bus stops.
