Hello there!
We hope folks got through the week of the Blue Angels. We so appreciate all who have voiced their support here, and also for all who did the extra work before during and afterwards for the in-person protests to show that there are many people who do not want the Blue Angels in Seattle.
And, here is an update from our dear friends at WA Physicians for Responsibility:
"in response to OpEd by WPSR member Dr. Breck Lebegue ["Let's honor the past but bid farewell to the Blue Angels"] the Seattle Times is asking people to weigh in on whether the Blue Angels military airshow should continue or not!"
While the newspaper potentially editorializing to end the Blue Angels won't be the last step, it's a great chance to educate more folks around the region about why they should end--and how many say that while they've loved them in the past, it's time to change Seafair to make it truly accessible for all.
Can you help out? It should take under a minute!
Please send an email to OpEd@seattletimes.com with "No Blue Angels" in the subject line. No need for any content in the body of the email. But obviously feel free to add why you want to see them end.
More to come soon-as we're planning next steps as we approach the City's budget season.
Pressing the press can help push our elected officials and City leaders to listen to the people: it's time for a change!
Thanks all!
