Make Road Rage Incidents a Ticketable Offense in California

Make Road Rage Incidents a Ticketable Offense in California
The Issue
As a resident and frequent driver in California, I have witnessed and experienced countless instances of road rage that have threatened the safety and well-being of myself, passengers, and fellow motorists.
Aggressive/dangerous driving is a problem that needs to be solved by issuing a traffic ticket to everyone expressing road rage to ensure the safety of drivers on the road.
Road rage instances are common in the state of California, and these instances increase as traffic increases yearly. According to a study by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, many people believe that road rage instances have become worse with time. The study also confirmed that 78% of the people tested participated in some form of road rage within the past year. Although most cases of road rage are not violent, some of these instances could become violent. Some of these dangerous and violent road rage instances lead to fatalities and injuries. In some road rage instances, weapons, such as guns are common. We need to take action to lower the reports of road rage. The issuing of traffic tickets for road rage could decrease the instances of road rage. Also if people knew that road rage would lead to legal consequences like traffic tickets and fines, they would be discouraged to partake in this activity and would instead be motivated to drive safely. As road rage becomes punishable as an offense or a traffic ticket, more police cars would watch for road rage, which would decrease road rage reports more.
So, punishing aggressive and dangerous drivers with a traffic ticket for road rage is needed to reduce the reports of road rage, and to make our streets, communities, and highways safer.
