Fair sport is the foundation of quality development and expected results.

Rhythmic gymnastics is an Olympic sport and part of the global Olympic movement. As such, it carries the responsibility to uphold the principles of Olympism and to actively contribute to building and maintaining trust in international sport.

In today’s rapidly developing digital world, the sports environment faces new standards for sustainable development and efficiency. Transparency and access to information are becoming increasingly important as forms of protection that ensure predictability and stability.

In this context, we propose four steps that will be formally submitted to World Gymnastics (WG, formerly FIG) for the attention of its President and governing institutions. These steps are aimed at strengthening the digital, informational and organizational environment of rhythmic gymnastics, and guaranteeing its institutional development:

1. Providing full live-streaming coverage of all competition days at major international tournaments under the auspices of World Gymnastics (WG, formerly FIG).
2. Providing a unified live scoring platform (app/website) for major rhythmic gymnastics events and World Championships.
3. Publishing the full record (score sheet) after each stage of the competitions, including the name and score of each judge.
4. Changes to the format and organization of the World Championships.

PROVIDING FULL LIVE-STREAMING COVERAGE OF ALL COMPETITION DAYS AT MAJOR INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS UNDER THE AUSPICES OF WORLD GYMNASTICS (WG, FORMERLY FIG)

In today’s digital world, with highly advanced technologies at our disposal, real-time access to sporting events is no longer a luxury – it is an established standard. Rhythmic gymnastics enjoys an active, loyal and steadily growing global fan base that expects a legal, easily accessible and technically reliable way to follow major competitions.

In this context, the creation of a centralised digital platform for streaming rhythmic gymnastics events – either independently or in partnership with national broadcasters – would be a logical and timely step forward. It would also ensure that the sport meets standards which are already widely regarded as the norm.

EXPECTED POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY:

1. Promoting the sport and strengthening its positive image.
2. Reinforcing the authority of the World Gymnastics.
3. Expanding the global audience.
4. Engaging fans meaningfully worldwide.

PROVIDING A UNIFIED LIVE SCORING PLATFORM (APP/WEBSITE) FOR MAJOR RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS EVENTS AND WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Modern information technologies make it possible to publish competition results in real time. Providing access to this information enhances transparency and awareness, and strengthens trust in the sport and its governing institutions.

A unified real-time results system would provide reliable information to the international community of fans, specialists, marketers, advertisers and researchers. At the same time, it would naturally position the World Gymnastics as a leading federation implementing modern technological solutions with clear added value.

EXPECTED POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY:

1. Creating a reliable information environment that strengthens trust and sustains fan engagement.
2. Establishing a unified archival database with fast, reliable sorting, filtering and classification functions.
3. Supporting the work of national federations and media outlets in real time.
4. Providing a structured resource for the academic and sports science communities.
5. Publishing the regulations for each major event to prevent different interpretations.
6. Publishing the full record (score sheet) after each stage of the competitions, including the name and score of each judge, in one accessible, clearly visible location.
7. Ensuring accessible, timely, and time-zone-synchronised information through:

PUBLISHING THE FULL RECORD (SCORE SHEET) AFTER EACH STAGE OF THE COMPETITIONS, INCLUDING THE NAME AND SCORE OF EACH JUDGE.

In modern sport, transparency is not a risk – it is a form of protection. Timely and public information regarding the work of judging panels in rhythmic gymnastics protects athletes, judges and the institutional authority of the World Gymnastics. It also helps overcome the perception of the sport as “closed” and reinforces rhythmic gymnastics as an accessible and modern Olympic discipline.

EXPECTED POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY:

1. Designing a self-regulating mechanism that is easily accessible and ensures the visibility, clarity and consistent application of the logic and rules within the Code of Points for all participants.
2. Increasing the analytical value of judging decisions to lead to a clear interpretation of, and accurate reflection on, the competition’s progression.
3. Raising the level of understanding among the fan community.
4. Closing the information gap to strengthen trust and interest in the sport.
    

4️⃣  Point 4

CHANGES TO THE FORMAT AND ORGANIZATION OF THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 

The current qualification format at the World Championships results in an uneven distribution of competitive pressure and inconsistent evaluation of performances on the same day of the competition. This is largely due to the practice of forming a so-called 'judging base' according to the start time of the groups.

Having clearly defined and publicly explained principles for establishing this base would ensure that identical performances are valued equally, regardless of start time.

To improve the predictability, logic and sporting fairness of the qualification phase, it is proposed that gymnasts be allocated to groups based on an up-to-date ranking list, rather than by draw. Gymnasts would accumulate ranking points through competitions of varying levels and significance, all of which would be subject to clearly defined rules.

EXPECTED POSITIVE IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY:

1. Creating a more compact and logical qualification phase.
2. Reducing discrepancies in the competitive context caused by time allocation.
3. Encouraging participation in a broader range of tournaments to build up ranking points.
4. Facilitating the planning of television broadcasts.
5. Providing clarity for fans regarding the competition schedules of leading gymnasts.
