Some countries have already implemented policies that allow certain medical devices, like blood glucose monitors and inhalers, to be purchased OTC. By adopting a similar approach for CPAP machines, we can follow a proven path towards better public health outcomes.

Moreover, OTC availability in the United Stateswould encourage manufacturers to innovate and create more user-friendly and affordable devices, catering to a broader audience. Removing the prescription requirement will also alleviate the burden on healthcare providers, allowing them to focus on complex and urgent medical cases while patients take proactive measures for their health.
