Make NVIDIA GPU Drivers properly open source and more compatible for GNU/Linux

The issue

For those with concerns about proprietary software, using Microsoft Windows to fully utilize their NVIDIA graphics card is unacceptable. Even NVIDIA's proprietary drivers are not fully compatible with the Wayland display system, and may require non-trivial workarounds.

Other vendors such as AMD and Intel provide drivers that work more readily with most GNU/Linux distributions. NVIDIA should develop drivers which work as seamlessly as the drivers provided by their competitors like AMD.

While NVIDIA drivers are becoming more opensource, progress towards proper Wayland support is lagging behind AMD which has already shipped an opensource driver for Radeon cards, since 2014.
