Universities’ own research shows that animal agriculture drives the climate crisis — it’s time to help institutions to make healthier choices 🌍

Our food system is responsible for a third of global greenhouse gas emissions [1]. This makes it one of the most effective levers in the fight against the worsening climate crisis. We are therefore calling on KTH to switch all of its food offerings completely to plant-based food.

Switching to a plant-based diet offers enormous benefits for the planet, animals, our health and our wallet. We think everyone should be able to eat what they want. The burden to find affordable and climate-friendly options should not be on individuals. KTH as an institution has both a strong influence on society and has research demonstrating the positive climate impacts of eating plant-based foods [2][3][4]. KTH should walk the talk and provide only plant-based food in all of its premises (like restaurants, cafes, pubs, student events and catering).

Already more than 20 universities across Europe, from London and Cambridge to Uppsala, Graz and Basel, are already demonstrating that a modern, 100% plant-based canteen is possible and the right way forward.
Let's make KTH be the next one!
