The centre of Insch has become a hub of antisocial behaviour, vandalism, drug problems, verbal abuse, theft and violence. Our once quiet neighbourhood has become a place where criminals feel safe to engage in alarming behaviour in broad daylight. This is scaring elderly people, children and has caused a sense of fear amongst our general community.

Aberdeenshire Council have created this problem by transforming some council-owned properties at Dunchavin Cottages into temporary accommodation units. These homes regularly house addicts, criminals, and newly released prisoners.

Given the size of our quiet, rural community and that Dunchavin Cottages is so close to the school, this is unacceptable.

Please help us convince Aberdeenshire Council to close these temporary accommodation units in the heart of Insch and find suitable tenants for our neighbourhood, so our children can safely walk to school and our community can return to using the streets without fear.
