The NHS produces 133,000 tonnes of plastic waste each year, according to nhsprovider.org. While some of it is unavoidable due to necessary infection control. There are other areas of healthcare which could easily become more sustainable.

Sign this petition to demand pharmaceutical companies make reusable inhalers. Patients could replace their metal canister containing the drug while continuing to use the same plastic casing and cap. This would require a redesign of the nozzle within the inhaler so it becomes a multiple use holding. 

Surely this should be a cheap and easy fix which could save a large amount of plastic waste each year.

The more signatures this petition recieves, greater the chance of influencing change within large corporate pharmaceutical companies.
