Dogitization campaign being run by Vandana Jain in the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh is consistently making efforts to change the mind set of the people towards the man's best friend. Recently it came out with an innovative idea of making a dog house (pic in the post) with a discarded water tank (syntax tank). The unused water tanks often remain as a piece of garbage but once painted and decorated the same garbage can become a cozy home for our furry friends. It has enough space inside for the dog to sit comfortably and it also protects the dog from extreme heat, cold and rain. Not just that according to Vandana a dog who is comfortable and secure will never bite anybody. Hence food, water and shelter minimises the risk of dog biting. Raksha bandhan is a festival which celebrates the beautiful bond between brothers and sisters. On the day of the festival the sisters tie a band on the wrist of their brothers which is called raksha sutra (safety band). The band is the symbol of protection which means that the brothers will always protect their sisters from any trouble or misfortune which may come their way. The Dogitization campaign on 2nd August 2020 celebrated this special day by inviting women of Indore to tie safety bands (raksha sutra) round the neck of their four legged friends. For these beautiful ladies the dogs are no less than their brothers. They protect them.and love them.just like their brothers. The festival of Raksha Bandhan is on 3rd August 2020 but the city of Indore and it's beautiful ladies have already celebrated it with their furry brothers today. We hope this tradition continues every year and more ladies join it.
While the city of Indore and its people have started accepting dogs as family members there are other parts of India where dogs are treated as filth and garbage.
An incident has been reported from Sirsa, Haryana where four pups have been relocated 15 kilometers away from their home by the residents of Aggrasen colony. These so called educated people don't like dogs so they relocated them. They constantly harass the dog feeders and stop them from feeding the dogs. They consider the dogs as filth and diseased. These people might be educated but they don't have any respect for law nor any love or compassion for the dogs.

Just see how contrasting are the attitudes of the people of India towards the man's best friend
Are the dogs of Sirsa any different from dogs of Indore?
