A dog's dead body was found few days back on 27th morning by an old gentleman Anil (M- 9810307711) who often feeds the dogs of his area but this dog was new to the area. He had never seen her before. According to him someone had brutally killed her by slitting her abdomen and then threw her away on this spot. Immediately he posted this incident with dog's pics on the south Delhi animal groups so that if anybody had lost the dog they may identify her. Following was the message which he had posted:
"A dead dog is lying on the pavement near Hauz Khas bus stop, Sri Aurobindo marg, just before Hanuman mandir. It seems the poor dog has been killed by some cruel person as there is a clean long cut on its abdomen. Pl inform MCD/NGOs/doglovers to take necessary action. Thanks"
The dead body of the dog kept lying on the pavement the whole day and it was only the next day on 28th morning that Anil and his wife took the dog in an auto rikshaw and buried her.
Today morning (30th November) the message he had posted got circulated in an East Delhi animal group. A caregiver Sanjana (M- 8447747443) had lost her dog Foxy on the night of Diwali. Foxy has a lot of resemblance to this unfortunate dog.
Diwali is a festival of lights which unfortunately people in India celebrate by burning crackers. The crackers not only create air pollution which the city of Delhi is already fighting with but also create noise pollution which is not only unhealthy for human beings but also for the dogs. A dog's hearing power is many times more than human beings so you can well imagine what havoc Diwali crackers and it's sound must be creating on them. The dogs just run in panic due to so much light and sound during Diwali. Some get lost and some get burnt. And the caregivers feel so helpless. It becomes more like a black night for many caregivers and the dogs.
The dogs who run away during Diwali night get lost. Some are lucky enough to get back and few don't.
One such dog was Foxy. She is missing since Diwali night on 27th October. It's been one month now and no clue of her. A day doesn't go by when Sanjana doesn't pray for her safe return. Back into her arms.
The dog who has been found resembles a lot like Foxy.
Her body has been buried so Sanjana has lost the chance to see her and confirm if she is Foxy or not.
We can only hope and pray that the dog gone is not Foxy.
But the dog gone is some poor soul who was killed for just fun.
The incident has taken place in a posh locality of South Delhi.
Has the MCD taken any action? They didn't even bother to bury her dead body.
The MCD takes action only to please the dog haters in this country. People who are rich and politically strong. When they are bitten or attacked by the dog often due to their own faults MCD tries to do everything to please those people. We have recently seen it happen in Lajpat Nagar 4. The dogs are still not back home (colony from where they were picked).
The animal welfare laws have not much significance in this country. They are just on paper.
Unfortunately people's blood boils when a dog bites or attacks someone out of provocation but when they are beaten to death no one talks about getting them justice .
Demanding Justice is only the responsibility of dog feeders and NGOs like PFA.
So called posh areas are just busy putting no entry boards for dogs but what about dogs being murdered in their area?
Do they report about it to the police?
The Delhi Govt is boasting about putting CCTV cameras all over Delhi. This horrendous incident too must have got captured in the camera.
Will the Chief Minister of Delhi ask for an enquiry in this case?
Will the police commissioner of Delhi ask the police station of Hauz Khas area to look for the murderers of this dog?
It's just not hard to find the culprit of this voiceless soul but are our Ministers, Municipal corporation and the police having the will to do it?
Will the environment ministry and AWBI take some strict action against the culprits?
At least the least they can do is sensitize people about dog laws and get all insensitive and illegal boards of 'no feeding dogs' and 'no entry of dogs in parks' removed. If we can't give them homes at least let us not deprive them of food, water and kindness.
Chief Minister of Delhi please do something. Your responsibility is not only towards the people residing in Delhi but also towards the community animals especially dogs who reside in the capital city of India. They are being tortured and killed almost daily on the streets of Delhi. Some get reported and many don't.
Delhi has already been declared the most air polluted city in the world and quite unsafe for women. Let's save it from being declared the most dog cruel city in the world.
Also remember the same person who has so mercilessly killed one dog will not stop from killing others. The madman has to be found before he committs more murders.
These incidents may look small because it's just a life of a dog but a murderer is a murderer. Today he has slashed the abdomen of a dog tomorrow he will not hesitate to slash the abdomen of a child
Will the chief minister, police and the government machinery be quiet then?
Is everything about vote bank?
Animals cannot vote so let them die and suffer and the caregivers and dog feeders are very few in number so no point listening to them.
Is this what our politicians think?
