As federal immigration enforcement has continuously attacked and killed our neighbors, we ask that GVSU administration enacts a sanctuary policy to protect our students and classmates. We demand that GVSU makes moves to protect its hundreds of international students, who are simply trying to further their education. Our demands are as follows:

1. CONCRETE SANCTUARY POLICY - The Board of Trustees formally resolves that no facilities, property, personnel, information, or funds shall be used to assist federal immigration enforcement agencies in carrying out immigration enforcement on the grounds of Grand Valley State University.
2. NO GVPD COLLABORATION WITH FEDERAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT - 
   In addition to the prior language regarding personnel, the Grand Valley State University Police Department must resolve to never assist federal immigration enforcement agencies in carrying out immigration enforcement on the grounds of Grand Valley State University.
3. AN EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM IF FEDERAL IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IS NEARBY - An establishment of an emergency protocol in the event that federal immigration enforcement personnel, including but not limited to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, are cited on or within a two-mile radius of Grand Valley State University’s Allendale, Pew, and Health Campuses. This protocol should include the use of the GVSUAlert! System and the immediate change to remote status on the affected campus to ensure the protection of vulnerable students.
