For a long time, I have experienced problems with watching videos on Youtube in Firefox. VIdeos are loaded slowly, and been loaded, it does not buffer. By searching in the web, I have found, that this is the often problem, happening not just with this browser, but with many popular ones, like Safari (but not Chrome). Alongside, there is a case with preventing of using ad-blockers on Youtube, which looks, in practice, kinda same way. And I can understand this, but I do not understand, why the site should work well only in Google's owned browser Chrome — and now it does just this way, I checked it myself and I have seen evidences from other users.

Chrome is pretty application, but I have got reasons to prefer Firefox instead — the main one is that my operating system is out of date. Google stopped to support it a couple of years ago. Mozilla Foundation, however, still does. In addition, I care about my privacy and I like Firefox's flexibility. So, my wish to use Youtube also should be legit. At the end of the day, it goes against the core principles of WWW — open information should be increasingly open, in my humble opinion. Erasing the boundaries, have you heard about it?

I am, as many my friends, watching Youtube in Russian Federation. The government started to decrease access speed to it — mostly silently, just with, unfortunately, habitually barbarous sentences of some deputies sounding like „Youtube is on the warpath with our country, spreading fakes and teaching inappropriate values“. In fact, it means, that there are plenty of Russian-speaking channels, who delivers truth about russian government's actions and expressing opinions of freedom, equality, human rights and other disallowed subjects daily. Youtube is one of the greatest tools of Russian civil society — therefore, it is sadder to see Google's hardening of access to it for non-Chrome browsers.

I also would like Google to implement some ways to passing out state's blockage of traffic to Youtube within its mobile applications. But I understand its difficultyness — it demands to perform some actions. It should be much easier just to stop perform other actions — as making Youtube almost unuseful with other browsers.
