Petition updateMake 'global' petitions on change.org 'global' and scrap the 3 email per week limit!

I want other British change.org campaigners (without social media) to get Australian signatures!

We have had a good start and we have reached 40 signatures, meaning that we are getting closer to the critical 100 signature milestone needed to trigger decision-makers on the platform.

Not all change.org campaigners are fortunate enough to own a Facebook or X page to share their petition. Those creators, therefore, are limited to sacrificing their own money and paying change.org for promotional ads in order to grow their campaign and reach their next milestones. I am one of those unfortunate change.org campaigners and my negative experience with believing I was running a global campaign, only to discover nearly 95% of my 400+ signatures were heavily concentrated in my home country, the United Kingdom, is something I want all UK change.org users to be aware of.

I deliberately targeted this petition at British change.org campaigners, but I want other British change.org campaigners without social media not to have the same negative experience as me when running their own change.org campaigns. I am campaigning to make the platform a better website and to get the global reach we are actually paying for as I chipped in a total of over £2,500 over the last six months to promote my campaign to fix Easter to its earliest possible calendar date (March 22nd) for either the years 2043, 2054 or 2065.

I also don't want other neurodivergent campaigners to be fooled into thinking they are running a global campaign, only to discover months later that their global reach has largely failed due to hidden national restrictions.

As per my last update, not all geofencing is bad, but should only be used during active paid promotion if a petition's scope is set to 'Local' or 'National'. I live in the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames and for example, if they were going to demolish Kingston library, a petition to save Kingston library will strictly need signatures (postcode geofenced) from the Royal Borough of Kingston-upon-Thames during active promotion for the campaign to have a chance at succeeding (though Kingston expatriate residents in the USA should be shared the link or search manually for the petition outside of active paid promotion so they are not barred from signing).

Similarly, a 'National' petition should be geofenced to the selected specific country regardless of one's physical location or IP address during active paid promotion, the 'National' scope should also feature a 'region/state' option so that the petition is not local but only targets certain regions within a specific country. For example if a user selects 'United States' as the country for the national scope, you should be given a 'state' option if you only want to target residents in a specific US state, such as Arizona. A user who selects the  'National' scope and selects 'United Kingdom' should also be given this option if they want to target the entire UK or a specific region (i.e. Scotland) during paid active promotion.

Users should also be allowed to chip in any amount of money to promote a petition (not just in whole numbers), for example it is currently not possible to chip in £2.50, you need to chip in either £2 of £3.

Finally, the words "petition" and "campaign" should be switched, on a change.org petition page, the button should say "sign campaign" not "sign petition" and after a user gets a confirmation email saying that all their paid ads are finished, the email should say "continue growing this petition" not "continue growing this campaign".

My main Easter date campaign has safely passed 450 signatures, though am not posting an update on the main page to make sure I am staying within the 3 email per weeks limit I want to abolish!

Mr Easter.
