Make Glenmore/HWY 560 Safe – Widen It Now

Make Glenmore/HWY 560 Safe – Widen It Now
The Issue
Highway 560 (Glenmore Trail) is the main route between Calgary and Langdon, but it’s become a serious danger for thousands of daily drivers. Every day, commuters face:
Overloaded traffic
Poorly designed intersections
Narrow lanes
Dangerous single-lane bridges
Traffic lights that create more delays
This isn’t just an inconvenience — it’s a safety crisis, especially with the growth of Langdon and Chestermere.
We are calling on the Government of Alberta, the City of Calgary, and Rocky View County to work together to:
Widen Glenmore Trail to four lanes between 68 St SE and Langdon
Fix choke points and dangerous lane reductions at key intersections and the Stoney Trail interchange
Upgrade turning lanes and traffic signals at 100 St SE and Range Road 283
Widen 100 St SE and nearby bridges for better industrial and commuter traffic.
This corridor connects fast-growing communities like Langdon, Chestermere, Indus, and Calgary, and it’s also a major industrial trucking route. The current road conditions are unsafe and cannot handle the growing demand.
We demand that all levels of government take urgent action. As risk assessments and surveys are not an answer anymore. It is not an option to ignore these ongoing issues anymore.
We, the undersigned, support immediate planning, funding, and construction to upgrade Highway 560/Glenmore trail before more accidents or fatalities occur. Enough delays — this is a life safety issue that affects all of us.
Sign now to help us push this forward.
