General Academic Strand caters students who are not yet sure of what course or degree they want to take in college. This strand was designed so that indecisive learners can proceed with any college program.

Advantages:

The GAS exposes senior high school studentsto a wide range of disciplines, letting them to experiment with each to find which one is best for them. Students can use GAS to:

Take a look at a variety of topics, such as disaster preparedness, risk reduction, and organizational management, among others.

HUMSS, ABM, and STEM are three of the other SHS strands that offer a balanced mix of disciplines.

Because they have learned a variety of disciplines, students may make a more educated decision for their undergraduate curriculum and potential professional route.

Disadvantage:

Students who choose the General Academic Strand will have a hard time keeping up with the lessons because the other students who choose a specialized track will be given more information in the college course they will take. If you're still undecided about what course you'll take in college, I believe it's better to take the General Academic Strand since it'll be more difficult if you're still undecided and, like a lot of college students today, you'll have to switch to another course because you're still undecided.
