The Issue

Every year, thousands of Foreign Medical Graduates dedicate years of hard work, significant financial resources, and personal sacrifice to pursue their dream of becoming licensed doctors in India. The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), conducted by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), is the final qualifying step in that journey.

The June 2026 FMGE results have left many candidates devastated and frustrated. The lack of transparency in this examination process has raised serious concerns about its fairness and validity. Candidates are unable to access answer keys and their response sheets, making it impossible to verify their scores or understand their mistakes. This opaque system leaves room for potential errors and discrepancies in the evaluation process, further exacerbating the stress and uncertainty for the examinees.

It's high time that NBEMS reforms the examination's process and ensures its transparency. By releasing answer keys and individual response sheets, candidates will have the opportunity to review their performances and address any anomalies directly with the board. This step not only builds trust among candidates but also leads to an overall improvement in the examination standards.

Furthermore, ensuring a fair evaluation process by incorporating third-party audits can enhance the credibility of FMGE. The lack of accountability can be rectified through such audits, ensuring that the results reflect the true capabilities of the aspirants.

We urge the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NBEMS to take immediate action to make the FMGE process transparent, fair, and accountable. Implementing these changes will uphold the aspirations of countless medical graduates and fortify the medical profession in India.

Sign this petition to demand transparency, fairness, and accountability in FMGE for the future of Indian healthcare.
