The Issue

Residents and businesses in Finsbury Park face unacceptable levels of crime and anti-social behaviour, much of it linked to the open dealing and use of Class A drugs.

Children playing in our streets and parks are being exposed to people injecting drugs as if this were normal behaviour, putting them at risk.

Too many incidents go unreported because residents have lost confidence that reporting them will lead to effective action.

We call on the Mayor of London and the Metropolitan Police to:

●      Respond to residents’ concerns by tackling open drug use and dealing as a priority.

●      Use their powers to support Islington Council’s anti-social behaviour team.
Enforcement alone is not enough. People affected by drug addiction need effective treatment and support.

We call on Islington Council to:

●      Monitor its new drug treatment service and ensure it reduces both drug dependency and drug-related anti-social behaviour.

●      Regularly examine police performance and hold them publicly to account.

Finsbury Park residents deserve safe streets and effective action.

The police must be held accountable to our community and meet targets set by residents.

Sign our petition today and help us restore our streets.
