Since launching this petition, I have been grateful for the support, feedback, and conversations that have started around electric scooter safety.

I recently connected with transportation advocates and policy professionals who shared valuable insight on how we can make this effort more effective. Based on their feedback, I have updated the petition to better focus on:

• Clearer safety information for electric scooter riders
• Better consumer awareness and education
• Improved safety guidance for different types of electric scooters
• Safer infrastructure and transportation planning
• Research and data collection to better understand injuries and risks

This petition has always been about finding a balanced approach — protecting riders while preserving personal responsibility, transportation freedom, and consumer choice.

My goal is not to ban electric scooters or restrict responsible riders. My goal is to help prevent serious injuries, make safety information easier to access, and encourage practical improvements that benefit riders, families, and communities.
