Today is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November, which means today is election day! I know this year is an off year election and that means more local elections, stuff at the city or county level. But still, some areas still have stuff to be voted on and feel like it's best to have as many people voting in those elections as well to make sure the decisions made reflect the highest percentage of the people possible. It could be good if people get the most coverage of what will be voted on in their local area. I say it is always good to show up on Election Day just to see what could be voted on if anything. Like what this petition is titled, I say it could be best if election day had became a federal holiday to guarantee as many people could vote as possible regardless of what year, even off years might not have important federal level things to be voted on or state level elections. It seems like just a small minority of states have Gubernatorial elections are odd yeared. Looking at the wikipedia page, only 5 states do odd yeared elections for governor. 2 this year and 3 in 2027. We should really try to push to get election day to become a federal holiday by next year. I would like to get it done by the end of the decade. 125 signatures is FAR from what we need to have this being considered, so I call on everyone to share as much as you can. Share with people who think will sign. Even people who may be indifferent or not so much as what I have and what others commented might change their minds. Promote if you have the funds.
