A week from today is election day. I know this year is an off year and means there is more local elections and nothing of national or statewide importance but figured to still mention this election day. I feel like even off year elections should have higher turnout as they could affect your local community in one way or another. I know my mayoral elections are the same year as the president, so the mayor of my town won't be this year but I would still like to possibly participate in the election to see what could be voted on. I know Detroit and New York has their mayoral elections this year. Likely election day won't become a federal holiday within this next week but we should definitely try to fight to get it to be one next year
