As a Hindu student in Ridgefield, I am constantly stressed during Diwali because I have classes typically and homework on the day upon which it falls. I feel this is unfair as for every Jewish or Christian holiday we are given days off and even aren’t allowed to be given homework. This petition is designed to show the Board of Ed that people would support this provision.

EDIT FOR CLARITY: we are only asking for the on day of Diwali the actual holiday off, not the whole festival, which is five days, this is something done by many school districts across America, including the NY state public schools
