When I started this petition, I framed it as a Colorado issue. That framing was wrong - not because Colorado doesn't matter, but because it undersold the truth.
This is a national movement. And the map proves it.
Six states have already passed laws protecting working caregivers from workplace discrimination:
🟡 Alaska · Delaware · Minnesota · New York · Illinois · Maine
Over 200 municipalities - including New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. - have enacted local caregiver workplace protections.
Colorado is fighting to become the 7th state.
Why does that matter to you, wherever you live?
Because every state that passes caregiver protections makes the next state easier. Every petition signature from outside Colorado tells a Colorado legislator that this isn't a local experiment - it's a proven national model with momentum behind it.
Your signature already said: I believe caregivers deserve protection.

Where we are going.
The Colorado CARE Act is being developed for the 2027 legislative session. I am a registered volunteer lobbyist. I sit on the Colorado Medicaid Commission. I am in active conversations with advocates in multiple states as this model spreads.
The decision makers are watching. Sen. Judy Amabile - Chair of Colorado's Medicaid Commission - is on this petition. Sen. Kyle Mullica, Chair of Senate Health and Human Services, is on this petition. Sen. Michael Bennet, who leads the bipartisan federal Assisting Caregivers Today Caucus, is on this petition.
Every signature is a data point they see.
We need 1,000. We are at 717. That gap is closeable today - if each of you shares this once.
