Make class and exam locations on Courses@Brown private

Make class and exam locations on Courses@Brown private
The Issue
With information related to the perpetrator of the December 13th shooting at Brown University being released to the public, it is entirely both possible and arguable that the person responsible for the shooting at Brown University was targeting physics students during their final exam.
Even if these reports are confirmed to be untrue, we believe that locations for classes and final exams should not be visible by the general public. When I was a student applying to Brown, I could research everything about the amazing classes offered here and never once needed to know when and where those classes were taking place at that semester. I find it highly unlikely that any prospective student would need to know when the classes met.
Students enrolled in those classes most likely have the information from a professor on a Canvas page, which is private. However, with their logins, they can double check the information on C@B. This is a reasonable way to address the probable initial reason that they were published. If a student needs to see when classes meet during registration to prevent scheduling conflicts, they can still do that by logging in. This is a common sense change that can improve student safety, especially since the Critical Reviews and Canvas materials for any Brown classes need a valid login.
Likewise, this petition also encourages professors with their own individual website to avoid publicizing information related to classes, review sessions, and final exams. We implore they avoid discussing these in any capacity related to location and time. It would also encourage other colleges and universities to follow suit and increase the safety of all college students in our country.
With Brown adopting these changes, we the students believe that this can be a small, but effective way to respond to the tragedies that unfolded on campus on December 13th. For the well-being of our beloved Brunonian community, we implore that the administrators at Brown University adopt this proposal or reach out to the student body for further discussion.
