My friends, family, and I have wanted the NSFW filter to have a switch for a while. The filter disrupts the whole vibe of the chat; it's upsetting and can sometimes get my household so angry we take it out on each other, getting into fights over nothing. Frankly, the filter is annoying and is losing them users. People have started using Janitor AI as an alternative, which is good but not the same.

Making the NSFW filter optional would make everyone happy—the people who want that type of content and those who don't. Most of us want access to NSFW content but are restricted by this mandatory filter. Please sign this petition to urge Character AI to implement an optional NSFW filter setting!
