This was the reality for my family. My parent, the pillar of our strength, was diagnosed with cancer. Due to the lack of mandatory cancer testing in insurance policies, we didn’t even know she needed to be tested. If such tests were part of standard health insurance, we could have possibly caught the disease at an earlier, more treatable stage.
