The Issue
As you already know, Elon Musk purchased Twitter (now called "X") from Jack Dorsey and since then, he has let harmful content to be allowed on the app.
This doesn’t just include racism, homophobia or cryptocurrency scams, this also includes videos and pictures of animal abuse too!
Since this year, last year and the year before I have found millions of accounts with sick, disgusting and cruel videos and pictures of various animals being used for sexual gratification.
This is domesticated animals such as dogs, snakes and horses.
Because Twitter/X allows people as young as 13 to register for an account, children are able to see this harmful behaviour and will most likely mimic it.
Please, join me in the fight to prevent this from happening by taking necessary action.
I have already contacted many UK Police Forces as well as Ofcom about this problem and they completely ignore my concerns.
All my life I have cared for many animals and have adopted or rescue them from bad situations so witnessing this kind of behaviour online traumatizes me.
My family dog was rescued from the streets of Romania after being neglected, abandoned and abused, a rescue shelter where I live have saved his life by bringing him to the UK, treating him for various diseases and illnesses and rehabilitating him so that he can adapt to a normal lifestyle of a domestic companion.
He is not just some "animal" or "dog", he has become a member of my family, he is a vital part of my life.
My dog helped me through many difficult times in my life such as struggling to cope with the National Pandemic Lockdown of COVID-19 to social anxiety due to my Autism and Depression.
He has been my anchor, my rock, my lifeline, my only true friend and to know that his cousins or ancestors are being abused online for sexual gratification sickens me to my very stomach!
Animals are not toys, we do not have the right to use them, abuse them and discard them as if they meant nothing to us.
If Paedophilia is illegal in all countries then so should be Beastiality.
Most animals (including dogs or cats) have a mental capacity of a human toddler, they cannot give consent, they are also extremely vulnerable to exploitation.
Many of you claim to care for and love all creatures great or small, yet you sit here and allow all of this to happen right under our very noses?
Something needs to be done, something needs to be changed before it’s too late!
