Make AY Young an Official National Ambassador for Scouting America
We, the undersigned, are asking Scouting America to appoint AY Young as its National Ambassador for Music, Culture and Youth Engagement.

AY is not an entertainer trying to attach himself to Scouting. He is an Eagle Scout whose life and career were built from the values Scouting gave him.

AY earned Eagle Scout through Troop 24 in Kansas City. He credits his Scouting experience and Eagle project with helping inspire the Battery Tour, which has grown into the world’s longest-running clean-energy concert series in the world. Scouting taught him service, preparedness, leadership and the belief that one person can use their gifts to make a difference.

At the 2023 National Jamboree, AY performed five shows and connected with thousands of young people. The response from Scouts was undeniable. They sang with him, surrounded him, shared the experience online and showed that AY has a rare ability to make Scouting feel exciting, relevant and connected to youth culture.

At the 2026 National Jamboree, AY will return

AY has continued representing Scouting through music, performances, international travel and digital storytelling. He created “Be Prepared,” an original Scout anthem built around the Scout motto, the Scout Oath, friendship, service and being there for others.

He also created the idea of a scOUTLET: a Scout who uses their passion, talent, skill, career or business to power positive change. It gives musicians, artists, athletes, coders, entrepreneurs and young leaders a new way to see how they belong within Scouting.

Scouting America has an opportunity to reach a new generation of young people and families through someone who already understands the movement from the inside.

AY can help Scouting America:

• Reach more young people through music, culture and social media
• Support national and local membership recruitment
• Highlight real Scouts, troops, councils and service projects
• Create exciting campaigns around leadership and preparedness
• Connect Scouting with diverse communities across America
• Give young people a visible Eagle Scout role model
• Bring concerts, workshops, storytelling and service activations to Scout events

This is not about manufacturing a connection between AY and Scouting.

The connection already exists.

Scouts have already responded to him. Scout leaders have already worked with him. Young people already see themselves in his message.

We are asking Scouting America to recognize that momentum and launch a formal national ambassador partnership with AY Young.

We respectfully request a 12-month pilot naming AY Young National Ambassador for Music, Culture and Youth Engagement, including national recruitment campaigns, council activations, Scout storytelling, performances, service initiatives and programming at major Scouting events.

By signing this petition, we are showing Scouting America that there is real grassroots support behind AY and a real opportunity to grow the movement through music, culture, service and youth leadership.
