Hi friends,
AID is standard care across the world, but in Australia, only 1 in 5 people with T1D have access to it. Why? The main reason is that there’s not enough public funding for insulin pump therapy. It’s time for that to change!
So, yesterday, we went to Canberra to chat with both sides of Parliament about how we can make this happen. We’re all in this together, over 20 diabetes organisations are on board. But it’s the people living with T1D, their families, and their friends who really make a difference.
We need to join the likes of the UK, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Israel, Slovenia, Finland, Denmark, and a bunch more that have already made insulin pump therapy affordable for everyone.
Here’s how you can help:
* Forward this email to a friend, family member, colleague, or even someone you don’t like too much & ask them to sign the petition.
* Write a letter/email to your local MP about why this is important to you. You can find them HERE
* Share this on your socials
With the Federal election just around the corner, we need to make sure that everyone with diabetes has the opportunity to access the devices they need to live well. It’s time for change!
All the best,
Ben
