The American Bison have been a part of the North American ecosystem prior to the establishment of our nation and even further back than the ice age.

The Plains Bison and Wood Bison are majestic animals who are being reintroduced into their historical habitats as part of an effort to conserve the species. These animals were nearly pushed to extinction in the 1870s following the construction of transnational railways.

Bison deserve the same status as the American Bald Eagle. They must be federally protected from hunting, poaching, farming and any other threat that endangers their population. The restoration effort must not be undermined.

The North American Bison is our national mammal and is as sacred to our country as the Eagle. It is our duty and obligation to protect them.
